About Me

Hi, I’m Francesca and I am the creator of this site dedicated to Emilia, the region where I was born and raised. I see myself more as a storywriter.
Brought up listening to the notes of opera and popular songs.
I started travelling as a teenager to learn foreign languages, and perhaps it was my constant roaming that led me to discover my sense of belonging to Emilia, something I thought I didn’t have. One day, while walking through the fields close to home with Vicky, I had the sensation that sooner or later I would be putting pen to paper, expressing my passion in writing.
Emilia, a region that few are familiar with, unless for its wine and food traditions or as home to major car manufacturers, but I can assure you, there is much more to discover in Emilia.
From Piacenza, Parma and Reggio Emilia to Modena, Bologna and Ferrara, it is a constant alternation of landscapes to explore and stories to tell. Stories of a people that has made its land and its cities into poetry to be shared with anyone who wants to stop, even if just for a moment, in this patch of land bordering Lombardy, Tuscany and the Veneto.
Through the stories that I write, my wish is to immortalise and share snapshots of life and places that will remain inscribed in the minds of we travellers.

Francesca
